
CHRISTO KAISER CONSERVATION AWARD
Purpose
The Christo Kaiser Conservation Award is the most pre
stigious conservation award offered by SCI Austin.
The award is presented annually to individual(s) that have made an exemplary contribution for conservation and education to wildlife and related natural resources.
Whether it is on local, national, or international level the award is designed to bring about greater knowledge and awareness of conservation and education practices while giving proper recognition to one person that make outstanding contributions in these areas.
Who is Eligible and Deadline of entry?
This award is for SCI Austin Member with a strong belief in Conservation and Conservation Education can be nominated. The Nominating party will need to fill out the “Christo Kaiser Conservation Award Application”, and turn it into SCI Austin Chapter President by November 1st of each year. SCI will present the award at the annual Hunters Heritage Banquet.
Judging of Candidates
Austin SCI Officers and past award recipients will judge eligible candidates to receive the Christo Kaiser Award.
Judging will be based on the following Criteria.
- Exemplary work that may influence future conservation and education practices.
- Make improvements in the quality of conservation and/or conservation education.
- Implements programs on local, national, or international level designed to improve conservation and/or conservation education.
- Effective communication and knowledge toward Conservation and/or Conservation Education.
- Effectively works with and educates youth on the importance of good Conservation Practices.
Rules:
This is a once in lifetime award. Recipient will not be eligible to receive this award at future Banquets.
- Nominees have to be members of SCI Austin Chapter.
- Nominees do not have to be sportsman to receive this award.
The Award Winner:
The winner will be announced at the SCI Austin Hunter's Heritage Banquet held each January. The award winner will be treated as a special SCI Austin VIP guest at the Banquet. He/She shall receive 2 entry tickets to the Banquet at no out of pocket cost and will be placed at the VIP table up front.
The SCI announcer will present the “Christo Kaiser Conservation Trophy” during the Awards Ceremony portion of the Banquet.
Along with the “Christo Kaiser Conservation Trophy” SCI Austin will donate $2000.00 to a conservation organization of their choice, with SCI Board approval. Some examples follow.

- SCI American Wilderness Leadership School . (For an Educator)

The winner will also receive a “Safari in a Box” which will go to the school of their choice.
